French

If you are interested in languages and Francophone culture across the world, then French is an excellent choice for you! Learning a language develops many key skills such as communication, resilience and adaptability.

Studying French at A level will build on the foundations at GCSE to give you the confidence to speak and write French to a high level, you will also become confident at dealing with language in its written and spoken form from a variety of authentic sources, allowing you to reach your full potential as a linguist. Not only this, but studying French also encourages empathy, tolerance and an appreciation of global Francophone culture.

Key Stage 5

Students in Year 12, follow the new AQA A Level course in French.

The Key Stage 5 Curriculum Plan for French be found at the bottom of this page.

Enrichment

For Year 12 & 13, it is recommended that you take part in work experience visits, which are organised and administered through Acorn Educational Exchanges or, where viable, on school study visits to Geneva in order to enhance your linguistic and cultural knowledge.
