Introduction
We have a thriving Sixth Form with over 400 students - around 40% join us from other schools. Our Sixth Form Centre has excellent facilities: tutorial rooms, social space and a large university-style study area which is open until 5.30pm every school day for private study.
While the experience for each student will vary, there are common features of study programmes which means that all students receive the high quality Bishop Stopford School experience to succeed in courses and to make effective transitions to Post-18.
Alongside lessons, programmes include tutorials and mentoring, with 1:1 support for career pathways. Our gold standard Life and Ethics programme enables every one to undertake learning for life within a moral and ethical framework. Financial literacy is also developed.
Beyond the regular timetable, there are significant opportunities for trips and visits relating to subjects of study, careers and HE choices. There are also many leadership opportunities at subject, chaplaincy, wellbeing and whole school levels via our Sixth Form Student Leadership Team. Our Societies Programme (eg MedSoc, Civic Society) is fully led by Sixth Form students.
