Wellbeing

At Bishop Stopford School, wellbeing is at the heart of the student experience.

Our Intent is that they:

  • realise their unique potential

  • have highly productive relationships

  • have a strong sense of identity and belonging

  • understand their individual worth

  • are happy and healthy

  • are creative, self regulating and resilient

Wellbeing is fostered through strong community cohesion. Students take part in community events and in lessons, their wellbeing is explicitly addressed.

Mental Health is an open conversation at our school. We encourage students to identify their emotions and recognise when they need extra support. We have a range of resources available and open communication channels. Student can speak to:

  • their Form Tutor

  • their Head of Year

  • another trusted adult

  • the Chaplain

  • a Student Ambassador

They can also ask for an appointment with our counselling service, the school nurse, other agencies which support us and the local NHS Foundation Mental Health Support Team.

"Pupils feel safe and are well cared for. They enjoy great relationships with caring and dedicated staff. Pupils get along well together. They celebrate their differences. Discrimination is never tolerated."
