Summary
The BTEC Level 2 TECH Award in Health and Social Care has been developed to introduce the sector. It gives:

The opportunities to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the health and social care sector;

A more focused understanding of health and social care;
-
The opportunity to develop a range of personal skills and techniques that are essential for successful performance in working life.
It also supports progression into a specialised Level 3 vocational or academic course or into an apprenticeship.
This qualification is one GCSE equivalent. There is no externally assessed exam.

Pearson BTEC Level 2 First Award in Health and Social Care (3 Core Units):

Component 1: Human Lifespan Development (Internally Assessed) Explore human growth and development across life stages. Investigate factors that affect human growth and development, and how they are interrelated. |
Component 2: Health and Social Care Services and Values (Internally Assessed) Explore the care values that underpin current practice in health and social care services. |
Component 3: Health and Wellbeing (Externally Assessed exam) Learners will explore the factors that affect health and wellbeing, learning about physiological and lifestyle indicators, and how to design a health and wellbeing improvement plan. |
