If you are interested in languages and Hispanic culture across the world, then Spanish is an excellent choice for you! Learning a language develops many key skills such as communication, resilience and adaptability.
Studying Spanish at A level will build on the foundations at GCSE to give you the confidence to speak and write Spanish to a high level, you will also become confident in dealing with language in it’s written and spoken form from a variety of authentic sources, allowing you to reach your full potential as a linguist. Not only this, but studying Spanish also encourages empathy, tolerance and an appreciation of global Hispanic culture.

A choice of essay questions to answers
One essay on each literary text or film.
Approx. 300 words per essay but there is no limit
No dictionaries or copies of the texts are allowed
Paper 3: Speaking
21 - 23 minutes including 5 minutes supervised preparation time.
Part 1 (5-6 minutes) – discussion of a theme based on a stimulus card (choice of two)
Part 2 – Individual research project completed by the student. Two minute presentation followed by a 9-10 minute discussion. This research project can be on any topic chosen by the student, linked with any aspect of Hispanic countries or culture.
