Spanish

If you are interested in languages and Hispanic culture across the world, then Spanish is an excellent choice for you! Learning a language develops many key skills such as communication, resilience and adaptability.

Studying Spanish at A level will build on the foundations at GCSE to give you the confidence to speak and write Spanish to a high level, you will also become confident in dealing with language in it’s written and spoken form from a variety of authentic sources, allowing you to reach your full potential as a linguist. Not only this, but studying Spanish also encourages empathy, tolerance and an appreciation of global Hispanic culture.

Key Stage 5

Students in Year 12, follow the new AQA A Level course in Spanish.

The Key Stage 5 Curriculum Plan for Spanish can be found at the bottom of this page.

Enrichment

For Year 12 & 13, it is recommended that you take part in work experience visits, which are organised and administered through Acorn Educational Exchanges or, where viable, on school study visits to Madrid, in order to enhance your linguistic and cultural knowledge.

All current plans for sixth form programmes of study at Bishop Stopford School are provisional, dependent on student numbers and government policy.
