Pure Mathematics - Builds the foundation for advanced mathematical thinking and problem-solving.

Proof, Algebra, Functions and Graphs, Coordinate Geometry, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry, Differentiation, Integration, Numerical Methods and Vectors.

Statistics - Focuses on interpreting and analysing data to support evidence-based decision-making.

Statistical Sampling, Data Presentation and Interpretation, Probability, Statistical Distributions, Statistical Hypothesis Testing and Interpreting a Large Data Set.

Mechanics - Applies mathematical principles to physical systems, ideal for students interested in physics or engineering.

Quantities and Units in Mechanics, Kinematics, Forces and Motion, Newton’s Laws and Moments.

The full A-level qualification is assessed through three exam papers, each lasting 2 hours and worth 100 marks.

Paper 1: Pure Mathematics 1

Paper 2: Pure Mathematics 2

  • Assess the same Pure content areas, but with different questions and combinations

Paper 3: Statistics and Mechanics

  • The large data set for statistics is released in advance and should be studied thoroughly.

All exam papers are calculator-allowed, each contributes one-third of your final grade, and a formulae booklet is provided during the exam to support your working.
